BibleShare
is a time where people, either new to the Word or "veterans in the
Word" can share freely and openly.
As
we read, we do so as if we are hearing the words of Jesus or the writer
of the Letter or Old Testament Book we are disscussing, for
the first time. We try to put aside the 2000 years of
“interpretation”
and commentary that we have all heard, and try to listen as
those
that
were hearing or reading these scriptures for the first time. What would
they be hearing? How would they be understanding what they were being
told? How would we have responded if we were there? We try to keep the
scriptures within the
context of the entire Gospel, New Testament Letter or Old Testament
Book that we are discussing and try not to just isolate scripture
into “stand alone topics.”
In
our discussions, there is an emphasis on what the scripture truly is
telling us; how we can apply what we read into our everyday life; how
it
applies to the world we are living in and how it is pointing the Body
of Christ, the “Bride
of Christ” to prepare the way for the soon return of our Savior, Lord
and “Lover of our
soul.”
If
anyone
needs prayer, we pray. If the Lord directs us to worship Him with song,
we worship Him in that way, remembering that sharing and discussing the
Word with each other is one of the highest forms of worship for we are
acknowledging God for who He is – God!!!
Our
primary desire is to simply “bless the heart of
our King.”
